Exact clones of the human body will fool most humans. The interplanetary visitors are here to exploit Earth's resources.

Toyota executives are peddling a new spin on a pedal problem. 

Gas pedals were originally designed for toys. 

Somehow the pedals were shipped to gas powered manufacturing facilities. This has caused consumers to speed forward in any direction without stopping. 

Some drivers have gone head over heels in their Toys. Others just get stuck with a cheap mat that attacks their feet.

Haiti, a nasty little republic

Think again before giving money for Haiti. It's like trying to keep an old car on the road way past its prime. The old saying applies, "Good money for bad". 

Haiti before the January 12 quake was already a disaster area. The little Caribbean nation is like a transplanted nation from Africa. It is the poorest mismanaged country in the Western Hemisphere. Haiti sits in the middle of the Hurricane belt. Devastation is on an annual basis between June and October. One of main reasons the French gave them independence in 1804. Since that time the nation has experienced one corrupt government after another. Drugs cartels control the current government and the authorities are on the take. Tourists and aid workers require foreign military protection from gangs and local police or military. Locals are gunned down in the street daily. 

What is Haiti's main attraction? What you would expect from a nation of peasants. Exploitation of millions of unskilled labours (originally from Africa's slave trade). Sweat shops and slave plantations are abundant. Only a mere 1% of the tropical forest remains. Large multinationals are the largest stake holders in this banana republic. They should be holding the tab for rebuilding Haiti. But, this time do not use rigid cement buildings. Cement and wood (used to be) are exports of this island nation. Sorry, no wood left for fuel or materials. Just one more import for a massive trade deficit.  Do not be concerned. The balance of trade can be made of, Restaveks, child slaves (500,000 before the quake).

Samhain

Samhain the origins of Halloween -
Ancient Celtic tradition to welcome a change and respect the dead. The change of seasons from summer to winter. An occasion to remember the dead. The usual date was the end end of the tenth month, October. Celtics dealt with departed souls from the earth plain. They felt the need to hide their souls from confused spirits and demons. The confused spirits thought they were still alive. These spirits wanted to feel again. So they would actively seek out the familiar souls on the earth plain. Confused souls would affect the behavior of  the living.

The Celtic people knew the demons would try to possess them completely or parts of their living bodies. The confused souls could affect speech, sight, hearing or feeling. Hiding ones idenity was a protection. Wearing of demonic masks or looking completely different made the Celtics feel safe when celebrating the dead. Another method was to have heads of vegetables carved to look like the living without bodies.  Bonfires also warded of evil spirits.

Everybody should respect Halloween or else.

Christian church  re-created  Samhain as the festivals of All Saints on 1 November, and All Souls the day after. This year, 2009, the full moon is November 2, the day after the confused souls were sumoned. A portent of what is to come.
